What is happening with that photo? Dave looks like he’s taking a dump, Josh looks demonic, and I look half asleep! When I showed my girlfriend the photo and pointed various folks out her comment of Dave was, “pretty average looking isn’t he?” Ha! Here’s me thinking he was a pretty boy!

    • 40KUK June 20, 2011 at 22:35 #

A pretty boy! Haven’t been called that before – but thank you Franco didn’t know you looked at me like that.

    • BJ June 21, 2011 at 12:23 #

Ha, pretty boy??/? who Dave??? i must have been living with somebody else for the past 5 years… no no Franco, all the good looking people were hiding in the back row ; )

Hey guys – enjoy this and the other shows. Just want to say though that the constant background music is quite distracting. I don’t mind it as much during “dramatic” moments like the deathmatch clashes, but when laid over hours-long conversations it can be a bit much, esp. when it can often be louder than the people talking. If you were to cut it out of most conversation-based segments or at least turn it down significantly I would enjoy the show even more. Thanks!

    • 40KUK June 20, 2011 at 22:35 #

Thanks buddy, glad your enjoying it. It was a bit of an experiment, so maybe we won’t go with it next time. Thanks for your feedback.

      • Neil Kerr June 21, 2011 at 03:56 #

Not wanting to shoot you down Dave but I have to agree that I found the background music somewhat distracting and made it at times hard to focus on what was being said.

Otherwise absolutely top notch episode (but I would say that considering I feature in it)

      • 40KUK June 24, 2011 at 02:54 #

Gotcha buddy, we may not go with it again as I think we’ve had a mixed response from misplaced idea.

  3. The Dude June 20, 2011 at 22:19 #

I liked the background music, it really added to the atmosphere of the show and on my earphones it wasn’t too loud at all. You guys are doing a brilliant job. Congratulations Dave, and to go undefeated over the weekend never once going first is quite an achievement.

Wow! What an amazing podcast, the best yet and I absolutly loved it. The background music is a great idea and I hope you continue with it in the future. It has made me want to enter my first tournament even more.

This is possibly the best episode of a podcast I have ever listened to. I don’t usually post on blogs etc, but after listening today I just had to. There are countless tips etc that I have picked up and can’t wait to use in the future. Just wanted to say too that the comaradarie between you guys is what makes the show and keeps it interesting.

    Long may it continue!

    • 40KUK June 20, 2011 at 22:37 #

Thank you Sammy, we’re really happy with the podcast so far, especially as we are relatively new. But with so many great podcasts out there and this to be your fav ever episode must mean we are doing something right.

Brilliant podcast guys and really interesting to hear about the new Grey Knight armies that are out there now. They sound really scary. Even scarier is the Eldar army that Dave faced. I wouldn’t know what to do against that.

    Congrats on your win Dave!

GREAT podcast guys. My friends and I all appreciate the quality and depth of tactic/list discussion. Game summaries are easy to understand and full of good info. Love listening to this while running, and Epic length gave me a couple days of it to boot!

    • 40KUK June 24, 2011 at 02:59 #

Thanks mate, the epic length won’t be every week; only when we do tourney specials, so you won’t have to put up with my voice for as much as this week too often.

    Great podcast
I had an excellent time at this event and cheers to Gary Percival for a round 6 brawl could of gone either way.
Hopefully will see alot more of all of you at future tournaments

    • 40KUK June 24, 2011 at 03:00 #

Will do – what is the next tourney you are off to?

  9. lee brown June 22, 2011 at 19:40 #

    • 40KUK June 24, 2011 at 03:03 #

Thanks mate, though your army has been giving me nightmares. The more I think about it, the worse I realise it is to play against. See ya in a few weeks. D

  10. Chris Smith June 23, 2011 at 18:05 #

Can only echo the previous comments, this was a really excellent podcast that despite it’s length never felt too long and provided so many good tips.

  11. Matt Kirk June 23, 2011 at 21:03 #

The music sounded good to me. Really enjoyed the humour break in the middle while you guys talked about your night out … it was like the ice-cream seller in the theatre break…. a little light relief. I thought the Eldar list Dave played sounded awesome …. 800 point Deathstar! Shame it didn’t get into the thick of it so we could see what it would do. Nice to hear there are still some Demons about as well.

Epicly good and some classic podcasting! Nice work lads!

    Excellent show guys.

As well as deamons and chaos I thought it was also quite poignant how few people brought IG, if the Pods experience was the norm. Might explain why BJ hard such a hard time of it, coz he’s built a list to beat the meta top dog and then had to play all the other best players in the country who had the same idea.

    I barely noticed the music.

And can i just say, i love how LOUD this podcast is, i can turn my ipod down to like half volume and still hear it clear as day. Does my battery life a whole universe of good!

Have to agree, I’m really enjoying this podcast. In the past year I’ve started to play more local tournaments here in the States and hearing your game highlights and breakdowns is informative and inspiring. Music was fine in my opinion. Keep up the great work.
