    Fantastic Podcast!

Just when I thought my Daemons were done, you have breathed new life into them for me.

They never needed breath of new life anyway buddy, they are still a feared force.

Loved the new Match Live segment. Do you have any others planned?

    • 40KUK July 29, 2011 at 09:38 #

Yes sir we do! We will continue to do the Match Live on hot topics such as Grey Knights and Daemons. We already have the rematch planned where Rob Madeley is going to come up with a new evolution of Daemon army for teh future.

Enjoyed the show again, but one gripe… it was a nice try at getting round it boys but Daemons are done and no amount of shooting is going change that.

I beg to differ given that at 2 of the most recent UK tournaments Daemons have came 1st and 3rd respectively.

      • Franco July 28, 2011 at 13:08 #

Not that I think Daemons are out of the game at all, but is there any particular reason why they have done so well at those tournaments? Did they luck out on match-ups or have some lucky games, or was it all pure skill and a solid list? Again, I’m not someone who thinks Daemons are dead in the water, but it’s good to critically analyse data like that.

      • 40KUK July 29, 2011 at 09:40 #

Well Franco, the 1st place was in York and I know Allen El was in that and the 3rd place was Andy Oakham at BOTCH and the field was stacked.

The only real thing I disagreed with during the round table session was that with all the talk about now looking at Fateweaver even more, it was never really acknowledged that when talking about responding to the changing Meta scene, 6-7 venoms WILL delete him in a single turn, so if your daemon army does not focus on silencing as many of these as possible on the drop, you WILL lose your lynch pin, and you will lose it to units that have the mobility to back off and do it from a range where they can be safe from any return assaults.
Focusing on silencing these can keep you in the hunt however, as long as you don’t have a nightmare round of shooting – so while responding to the meta changes felt fairly correct, a little more explaination on how to make the most of these changes to respond to the new threats may have been more beneficial.

I think I was a bit verbose there, so the point might be lost D:!

And also as has been pointed out several times on the 11th Co, fateweaver is also probably auto-lose vs Guard with a PBS squad because of that run back into the warp rule he has. It doesn’t matter if he’s fearless he still has to take the LD test at the reduced value, so just lower him to LD2 and burry him I’m shots until he takes a wound. Game. Set. And match.

      Great show guys, btw.
