Great show guys, good coverage, sounds like a fun event, congrats to chris green and his tau!

Hard luck for Neil Gibby, maybe next time. It was probably all the practice against me that lulled him into a false sense of security! 😀

Cheers buddy and it really was an outstanding feat by Chris…though I wouldn’t be surprised to see him do well at the upcoming Warlords GT.

Great show Dave I really enjoy these tournament shows, (but please don’t let the guys spoil it by telling tell us if they win or not till the end of their stories, it spoils the suspense), and well done to everyone at The Ribble Rumble it sounded like it was an ace event. 🙂

Also great to hear about Tau kicking but too, who knows this, could be a sign of a renaissance for the Tau…

See, i love the fact that in chris and josh’s game “it didnt matter about victory points so he could sacrafice loads to try and get the win”, but then chris won the tournament becasue he just pipped josh with his vp total :p

Wanted to toss in there myself about the GK henchmen lists that I as well have stopped running melta guns on acolytes for exactly the same kinds of reasons. They just weren’t being used. For what it’s worth, I have also tried Storm Bolters now as well as monkey squads, and they all basically suffer from the same problem. I’m now down to just straight el cheapo scoring units with the acolytes and dumping the rest of the points else where like more DCA, a Land Raider now, etc.

Yep, I think your right Neil and it is the way to go. I am sure there will be those kooky situations, in which Grey Knight players that take henchmen without the melta will have a landraider or some other panic stations vehicle that needs be killed NOW, but in the main I think taking them bare is the economical route.
