Ace show guys, I really enjoyed it 🙂

I’m at home painting models with the ever popular, and very traditional Xmas cold; so anything to help me keep this ague of Nurgle at bay is a great help.

As to the Big Fight I want to see Santa fight the Grinch or maybe even The Anti-Santa… :$

In the end I rebased my old Terminators, for the simple reason that there was less chance of arguments with my opponents if I changed them to the current base size.

If I HAVE to fall out with my opponent I would rather it was over something more important than some base on some old models; anything I can do to keep things friendly the better.

I like to play nice 🙂

Although I think most would not be bothered at all… it is probably for the best that you rebased them. Blocking termintaors movement using impassable terrain and vehicles is a tactic that is used all of the time. It is situation, but prob the most common one.

Good Ep guys. I laughed at Sharan and Dave talking about never being called on the the size of hiz Razorback – Sharan, im going to call you on it now just because you said it! 😛

Reminds me of Starsmash when Rob got called on him using the old daemon prince models, so the judge replaced them with a drednaught. Then got complained at because the dred was smaller! Justice!

I have been slow played before. And the to did nothing. I have had even worse cheating happen in my own home, on my table no less. I invited a bloke over for a game. He had been introduced to me by a mutual friend. I played his ard boyz Tyranid list and beat him. The next time he came over we were testing the the new marine codex and I noticed during the first turn he didn’t roll an single 1. I knew something was wrong. I use to work for an casino and was trained to catch out of the norm occurrences. On turn 2 on of his dice fell from the table an I picked it up and looked at it. Sure enough, it had an 6 on two spots. I let the game continue to see how he used them. If he had to roll on leadership he picked up an pair of regular dice. Once he thought the game was in the bag he switched to regular dice. After the game was over, I confronted him and asked him to leave. What kind of a person cheats in someone elses home? I told every person who played as well as the local game stores I frequented. Last I heard, he was having trouble finding a game. Poor guy.

Dude, that is on another level of weirdness. Tournaments we have all heard about (as rare as it is), but at your house. That is a guy destined for solitude.

Chaplain – that’s such a poor loser. Imagine the time spent putting 2 sixes on his dice – and to play in someone else’s home not even in a tournament. If you don’t like losing then don’t play Nids!

Andy – I still have termies on 25mm bases but by many of them being metal on slottas it’s obvious they came with that base. I do though keep some blank 40mm ones in the bag so I can bluetack them on if there’s a problem. I mainly keep them on 25mm bases so they fit in the foam compartment than for any WAAC reason …

    • Andy Ovel December 20, 2011 at 10:58 #

@Mark Perry: Yeah the bigger bases are a pain to fit in the cases, I’ve mauled my foam to fit them in snugly. I guess I could have blue tacked the larger bases on if someone complains. Of course when I put my termies on their bigger bases I did get some really nice resin ones that look like smashed cobblestones. 🙂

@Chaplain Centuris: I always try to make sure my opponents have as much fun I do, and I was horrified to read that someone would feel so insecure in themselves that they felt they needed to put THAT much effort into cheating at a friends house. I feel so sorry for that guy, if he thinks a good use of his time is making trick dice to cheat a friend. It’s very sad to read.

      I like that attitude

There are cheats in all things. No more or less in warhammer than other. The only thing is people can get away with it and bully people more because of the type of people in general that play. It will always go on.

    • 40KUK December 29, 2011 at 13:32 #

Perhaps that is true and you may even be right due to our disposition as gamers, but on the whole I will stand that it is rare. It is the fact that it is so rare that we make such a hoopla (yes I think it is a word) when it happen.

  7. Del Stuart December 28, 2011 at 01:06 #

I can honestly say I dont think Ive ever been cheated in a game. I also think if an opponent tried to slow play me they would fail because my turns are usualy over very quickly 🙂

I also love the term “man barbies” thats a keeper!

  8. 40KUK December 29, 2011 at 13:33 #

…And I think you are in the majority; most people haven’t been cheated.

  9. Del Stuart December 29, 2011 at 23:31 #

I think it was touched on in the show a little but maybe some new players might think “jesus that guy beat me so bad , he must have been cheating!” but as they get better and learn more they realise thats just how grey knights roll!

    haha 😉
